(Abstract) Will of Thomas Howell of Halifax County - dated 10 February, 1794 - To son, Matthew Howell - 2 negroes, Davie and King, and a bed and furniture - To son-in-law, James Ward, 2 negroes, Dick and Tom, and a bed and furniture - to grandson, William Skinner, land bought of Thomas Shanks, a bed and furniture, one mare, and negroes, Dick, Sallie, Edye, and Pat, all to revert to testators children if Willaim Skinner die withour heirs - to daughter Patience Pearce, 20 shillings - to daughter Jane Butcher, 20 shillings - to son-in-law Elisha Pitman, husband of daughter Sarah, 10 shillings -remaining estate to be equally divided between above mentioned children and grandson, William Skinner - son, Matthew Howell and James Ward to be executors - witnessed by John Pitman, Mathew Howell (Jr?) and Samuel Pitman - proved by oaths of Matthew Howell (Jr?) and Samuel Pitman and Matthew Howell (Sr?) and James Ward qualified as Executors, at February 1796 term of Halifax Court. |
