"Miss Howell, 81, Of Cuthbert Dies; Funeral services for Miss Mildred Eva Howell, 81, who died unexpectedly Tuesday at her home here, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Cuthbert. Burial will be in the White Plains Cemetery Friday afternoon, with Lunsford Mortuary of Cuthbert in charge of arrangements. Miss Howell, a former newspaper owner and teacher, is survived by two brothers, Henry and Edward L. Howell of Cuthbert, and a sister, Mrs. G. A. Camp of Atlanta. Miss Howell formerly owned The Cuthbert Leader, a predecessor of The Cuthbert Times. She was a public school teacher for awhile but spent the greater part of her life as a music teacher. She was organist for the First Baptist Church of Cuthbert for 25 years before retiring several years ago."
