J Howard, 83, former owner of a sand and gravel business in 'Greensboro, died Sunday in ' Deer's Head State Hospital, Salisbury, after a long illness. He was born in the Laurel Grove section, near Federalsburg, and was a son of the late Frederic and Sallie Andrew Howard. Surviving are five daughters, .Mrs. Sarah Foley, Mrs. Grace McQuay, both of Easton, Mrs. Ruth Steenkens, Preston, Mrs. Louise Williamson, Blades, and Mrs. Dorothy Holland, Bridgeville; 12 grandchildren and 18 great - grandchildren. Funeral services will be held - Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Williamson Funeral Home, Federalsburg. Retired Methodist minster the Rev. Essel P. Thomas, Easton will officiate. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery, near Federalsburg Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday night alter 7.
