 | Lundie W Barlow's Howell File Letter from Lundie W. Barlow describing the Howell line starting with Matthew Howell of Isle of Wight County, Virginia who died 1720, to McKinne Howell of Halifax County, North Carolina. Notes |
- Lundie W. Barlow notes:
"It is merely an assumption that the Thomas, son of Matthew of Isle of Wight, was identical with the Thomas who died in Halifax in 1777 - research in the records of Isle of Wight, and of Bertie, N. Carolina, is indicated in this connection. The time element favors the conclusion, however, and the Lane associations are persuasive."
Forty-four Families notes:
THOMAS HOWELL, SR., was born in 1703, in Bertie-Edgecombe County,
North Carolina. His will was proved in 1777 in Book 2, page 65. His wife was
mentioned in his will as "my wife Anne," but no last name was given." [13, 14]
