  JSH notes: J.H. Kilpatrick and Havilah Howell Mapp call her "Nancy" however I can't verify this.  "Ann Howell" is often cited as the second wife of Nelms.  Wikipedia notes: "The name Nancy was originally a diminutive form of Anne or Ann. Nancy originated as a contraction of "mine Ancy," with Ancy being a nickname for Annis, a Medieval English variation of Agnes. In the 18th century it began being used in its own right, as well as a nickname for Ann." Rev J.H. Kilpatrick notes typed by W. H. Kilpatrick: "Nancy married Nelms and after his death, Mercer. Nancy had two more children of whom James married Minerva Hilsman and Martha married Cuthbert Alexander and finally Davenport." Havilah Howell Mapp notes from her 1911 letter to W.S. Howell: "Cousin Nancy used to visit us at rare intervals.  She lived in South Georgia during Mr. Mercer's lifetime, - but during the life of Mr. Nelms lived at Crawfordville, Taliaferro County.  Here she reared the Nelms children, Jim, Rebecca, Nettie and Martha: the last was mother of Nettie Jernigan and Willis Alexander."
