Hello,
I just started working on genealogy in January 2005 after get a computer. I purchased Family Tree Maker 2005 and I also joined Ancestery.com for one year.
This Sunday I went to the Wicomico County Library looking for newspaper articles about the Goslee and Wilson family.
I found a death notice for both Mr. and Mrs. John Selby Goslee.
I have also been reading the Jacobs book on graveyards which he stated John Selby Goslee and Ann Maria were buried on Hickory Mill Road in Salisbury, Maryland.
I went to the farm and I was told that the graves had been tilled over. I could not believe the markers were also gone. I knew that there had to be markers because I had just left John W. Goslee grave site on Waller Road.
I was also having some trouble getting all the names together and in the correct order for the 13 children of Mr. and Mrs. John Selby Goslee.
John Selby Goslee newspaper article stated he leaves 11 children.
I have also found some Baptismal Records of the family and some gravesites.
The missing gravestones was really bothering me so about 12:30 a.m. I typed in Goslee Genealogy of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. That search brought me to your website, AND WHAT A WEB SITE! I could not believe my family was listed with so many details.
I just kept reading and reading. I got to bed very late last night (this morning).
I have been excited all day.
Because of you I found John Selby and Ann Maria gravesite and I took pictures tonight. Mystery solved.
So Hi,
My name is Wanda Lee Wilson Dawson
8825 Hickory Mill Road
Salisbury, Maryland
21801
410-546-1871
My mother died when I was 16 months old and I was raised by my fathers mother Mildred Goslee Majors Wilson [my grandmother]. I remember as a child going to where Franklin Grant Goslee lived. I also made many trips to Aunt Ina house in Delmar, with the great porch swing.
I also have a letter from Marguerite Freeney Howard from 1975 telling about a Larry Goslee of Medina, Tenn. searching for Goslee’s.
I live in the house that Elizabeth Jane Goslee [have a tin photo] and Noah Wesley Majors [have a tin photo[lived in. My grandmother Mildred Goslee Majors Wilson was raised in this house and her children [my father] also lived here. I raised my daughter here and now my granddaughter loves her week-end visits here.
I read on your website that you need a password to see the photo of family members. I would like to be included. I do know some information about my part of the family that is not on your website, if you are interested in adding more dates just let me know.
If I need to know more information about moving about your website please let me know.
If you need more information: librarylady@excite.com
Thanks for listening to my tale.
Wanda
