  Obituary notes: Denton Journal (Denton, MD) 24 Apr 1937, page 2. "John W. Howard, a prominent and very successful farmer of near American Corner succumbed Monday afternoon as a result of suicidal death.  As many of his friends and relatives know he had been in ill health for the past two years.  Mr. Howard was 61 years old and had spent most of his life in Caroline County where he was well known and will be missed by his many friends.  The community feels that it has lost one of its best citizens.  Funeral services were held at his late home on Wednesday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. F. P. Milbury, of the Union M.E. Church.  He is survived by his widow and three children." Nora Love and her brother William Love, married brother and sister, John Howard and Hannah Howard.
