Whittington served in the Revolution, but does mention his daughter Margaret marrying a William Botham. The following excerpt is on p. 22 of "The Littleton Heritage." "Margaret Whittington, b. c1806; married 1st (lic. Som. 24 Apr 1824) WILLIAM BOTHAM, died 1835/40; 2nd (?Ky. 1841/50) WILLIAM PORTER; removed to Ky. (Lentz). In 1840, as Margaret Botham, she was enumerated in the Lower Dist. of Som. Co., with 4 girls (1 b. 1820/25; 2 b. 1825/30; 1 b. 1835-40)" [9, 10]
