    • From William Heard Kilpatrick notes from a book which belonged to his father:

      "Austra [Howell] Mapp was born 1 Dec. 1842 and died 25 March 1891."

      The 1850 census of Hanckock Co., GA shows her age 8, born GA. Living with her parents.  Her father John J. Howell is listed as a farmer.  In the same house Moore Mapp, age 60 is listed as Overseer.

      Her sister Havilah married Henry S. Mapp (her husband's brother) [2, 13]
