    • Graduated from Drexel College (8 years of night school) as an industrial chemist.  Worked for Penn Salt.  Wrote dosage instructions.  Took samples of chemicals arriving by rail.  Newspaper article: Edward Carter, 58, of 6718 Guyer Avenue, Philadelphia, collapsed and died in his auto at 1:30 P.M. as he was driving north on 9th St. at Vine.  Apparently suffered a heart attack. 7th birth order. Baptised in the Hope Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, PA 13 May 1906.
