    • Speculative. My only source for this is the comment in the pace family history.

      From Pace family history:

"Patience Pace is named as daughter in the will of Thomas Howell dated 2/10/1794, probated 2/1796 in Halifax Co NC Also the will of George Pace naming sons John (over 21) and William (under 21) was witnessed by Matthew Howell (brother of Patience) on 1/7/1773" [2]

      > I just got my DNA results (Kit 16218)and the implications are very

      > I have long had proof that test subject 10683 and I descend from William

      > Shirley Pace Graham and I have also found proof that William, Sr. was a son of

      > Bruce's book although Bruce did not know Patience's surname.
      > My DNA results show that this George Pace and the John Pace (m. Sarah Burgh)
      > had to be very closely related. The only source for George Pace as son of
      > John Pace, Sr. m. Elizabeth, son of Richard Pace II is Bruce's book, but he
      > does not give convincing documentation. We know that George Pace (m. Patience)

      > brother George b. 1710 - 1715 and nothing is apparently known about this
      > George.
      > The most likely explanation for the DNA match seems to me to be that my
      > George was the brother of John (m. Sarah Burgh)
      > The mutation between my results and test subject 10683 proves that there was
      > a mutation among one of William Pace, Sr's sons or more recently.
      > I don't think it can be said that the descent of group 3 from Richard Pace
